A Collectible Victorian Silver Sovereign Case/vesta Combo

A delightful and interesting item of late Victorian silver. This rare piece is a vesta with a combined sovereign holder. Assayed at the Birmingham Office, this lovely example has extensive engraved acanthus leaf detail and an applied cartouche with script initials. The other end of the vesta is hinged and opens to reveal a spring release sovereign holder. Both interior compartments are gilded and there is a hallmarked attaching ring for a fob chain to the top. Condition :- Excellent, with a good hinge to both compartments and no dents or splits.

Hallmarks :- Full set to body and part set to both parts of sovereign dispenser and lid interior.
