Size: 20ft 8in x 10ft 5in (630 x 317cm).Antique Afghan Ersari Turkmen carpet with traditional Ersari large gul design of exceptional large size and quality.Circa 1900.The carpet has four vertical rows of thirteen large Ersari octagonal guls; the guls show that the carpet was woven by the Sulayman sub tribe of the Ersari in the Andkhoy region of northern Afghanistan. The carpet is of a superb warm madder red colour with the design in indigo blue.
