Many consider the medallions to be Turkmen inspired, but there are also links to the Caucasian ''dragon'' rugs and the Chelaberd (eagle) Kazak rugs. The large medallions are well drawn and are on a soft terracotta field, this contains many tribal design elements including birds, animals, stars, everlasting knots and other tribal devices.
