Superb 19th Century breakfront bookcase made from solid mahogany. The bookcase separates into 2 sections which allows for easy transportation to and around your home. The top has four astragal glazed doors with working key. The interior is lined with velvet fabric and has 9 fully adjustable shelves with mahogany fronts. The base has a central cupboard with two flame mahogany panelled doors which open to a single shelf also fully adjustable. On either side of the cupboard there is 3 deep drawers with small writing slide above. All the drawers run smooth and constructed with dovetail joints and have ebony string inlay decoration. Like all antique furniture there are some imperfections but nothing that detaches from the overall look of this solid bookcase. A very practical and attractive item of useful proportions offering storage for many books creating a small library in any room. A stunning item with rich colouring and graining the perfect addition to any home / office.
