Description

Size: 10ft 6in x 6ft 9in (320 x 206cm).

Antique Yomut Turkmen Palas soumak kilim of large size with long kilim ends with a chevron design.

Circa 1900/20.

These kilims are of very sturdy construction with a subtle colour palette. Note the very long decorated kilim ends. The design is an all over repeat lattice. This example has a soft colour palette with shades of warm madder red, a light green lattice and highlights in yellow and ivory, with the design outlined in dark indigo blue. The long kilim ends decorated in a chevron design are a feature of this kilim.

The kilim is in good condition with very slight wear, there is one small old repair in the border on the left hand side..

The kilim is suitable for normal domestic use.
