The bookcase is in two sections for ease of movement and transportation and each section has the original lock and a single key operates both locks. The original brass escutcheons are still in place.

The upper section has a classical moulded cornice and two 4 bar glazed doors; there is a central division and there are 3 adjustable shelves to each side. The lower section has 2 raised and fielded panel doors which open to reveal capacious storage on 2 fixed shelves. The whole stands very well on a shaped bracket feet.
