Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Items produced during the reign of King George V (19101936) often reflect traditional British craftsmanship, transitioning from ornate Edwardian designs to more streamlined modernist influences while maintaining high standards of sterling silver manufacturing.

These pieces were typically crafted from solid sterling silver, often featuring hand-engraved motifs, chased details, and spring mechanisms designed to securely hold linen during formal dining.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks stamped into the metal, which typically include a makers mark, a standard mark for sterling silver, a town assay office mark, and a date letter corresponding to the assay year.

Small antique silver pieces can be displayed on dining tables as functional art, placed within glass cabinets as curated collectables, or incorporated into modern table settings to add historical texture and reflective metallic accents.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive silver cloth and specialist polish, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can strip away desirable patina and damage delicate engravings.
