We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

French Renaissance revival pieces draw heavily from 16th-century classical motifs, featuring symmetrical architectural elements, heavy relief carvings, and dark timbers designed to project grandeur and historical continuity.

These beds are typically constructed from solid hardwoods such as oak or walnut, utilizing traditional mortise and tenon joinery alongside hand-carved decorative panels and turned structural columns.

Authenticity is evaluated through timber oxidation patterns, hand-cut joinery, tool marks on the carved reliefs, and historical hardware fittings rather than modern fasteners.

Pairing an ornate wooden bed with minimalist neutral linens and modern lighting creates a balanced focal point that highlights the historical craftsmanship without overwhelming the room.

Preservation involves dusting with a dry microfibre cloth, applying microcrystalline wax periodically to nourish the wood, and avoiding direct sunlight and moisture fluctuations.
