This stunning Louis XIV style bed has incredibly attractive shaping in both the head end and foot end with the foot featuring a uniquely shaped upholstered centre. The whole frame is brimming with detail with gorgeous carving throughout featuring classic interlocking geometric patterns and florals. The posts have very nice fluting and foliate carvings with particularly attractive carved finals. The side rails are also upholstered and feature the same carving as seen on the bottom of the foot end. The upholstery is perfectly usable, and in good condition, the siderail upholstery has a few minor marks, which shouldn’t be seen when the bed is dressed. We can re-upholster in fabric (supplied by the customer) for an additional £650. All in all, a truly stunning bed and a fabulous example of the skilled craftsmanship of the era.
