Robert Harris Jewellers has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
Pretty openwork shoulders lead to a decorative band, overall lending itself to a truly wonderful design. The rear is inscribed, “Sarah Andrew died 12 Oct’ 1814 Aged 64”. As sentimental as they are romantic, mourning, also know as memorial rings were popular throughout Georgian and Victorian times. A part our antique gold ring collection.

CONDITION
Very Good - Excellent – This antique 15ct gold amethyst mourning ring has stood the test of time of over 200 years magnificently. The amethyst has some light abrasions only, almost all pearls are in perfect order, just a few have minor signs of deterioration. The gold metalwork is in remarkable condition with a fantastic highly polished finish. The overall structure of the ring is sound. Bearing in mind the age and type of ring, we would recommend it for dress wear rather everyday.
