We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. FAQs

Art Deco silverware from the 1920s and 1930s is characterised by geometric forms, clean lines, stylised motifs, and a rejection of traditional Victorian ornamentation in favour of modern industrial aesthetics.

These pots were typically crafted from sterling silver, often featuring contrasting insulated handles and finials made from materials such as ebony, bakelite, or dark hardwoods to prevent heat transfer.

Authentic pieces bear a full set of British hallmarks stamped into the metal, which include a makers mark, a standard mark for sterling silver, a town mark indicating the assay office, and a date letter specific to the year of testing.

Such items can be displayed as sculptural centrepieces on sideboards or open shelving, contrasting polished metallic surfaces with natural textures like timber or stone for a balanced interior scheme.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive microfibre cloth and a specialist silver polish designed to remove tarnish without wearing away the underlying metal or damaging hallmarks.
