Striking Victorian Mahogany Antique Bookcase by Heals
This Striking mid 19th Century, Victorian Mahogany Antique Bookcase is by the renowned cabinet makers Heals and Son, London ca. 1860. It has of nice smaller, slim proportions with a moulded cornice above two glazed doors with key with working lock. The interior has two adjustable shelves. The lower section has a beautifully figured moulded top above two cupboard doors with moulded edges and spectacular figured panels, key and working lock. The interior has one shelf. This fine antique bookcase stands on a moulded plinth and it splits into two sections for easy removal. It comes with wonderful, genuine charm, character and the Mahogany has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of antique furniture wax finishing.
