Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Pirot Sarkoy kilims are traditional handwoven flatweave textiles originating from Southeastern Europe. Renowned for their intricate geometric bands and symbolic motifs, these rugs were crafted by skilled weavers during the 19th and early 20th centuries using traditional vertical looms.

Traditional kilims are constructed from natural hand-spun wool warp and weft threads. They utilise a slit-weave technique, where weft threads of distinct colours are woven tightly around warp threads to form pileless, reversible geometric patterns.

Authentic flatweave rugs feature hand-spun yarn with natural dye variations, tight slit-weave construction, and traditional regional motifs. Reversibility and minor organic irregularities in the weave patterns also indicate genuine hand-loomed production.

A banded flatweave kilim introduces pattern, texture, and visual warmth when styled over natural timber floorboards. It works effectively under minimalist dining furniture, in living area seating arrangements, or as a focal point in neutral spaces.

Vacuum regularly using a suction-only setting without a rotary beater bar to prevent fiber damage. Rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear, and consult a professional textile cleaner specializing in flatweave rugs for deep cleaning.
