This is a lovely example of an Edwardian banker''s lamp. It''s made from copper and has a heavy iron core to the base, which allows the fully adjustable stem to be positioned at any angle. Apart from a leather-faced protective pad, which we add to all our antique desk lamps, every part appears to be original, including its traditional green glass shade, working pull cord, and bulb holder. It''s in full working order and has been re-wired with a sympathetic fabric-covered cable. The lamp has been safety tested and the plug carries a sticker to certify this. We have sensitively cleaned and buffed its surface so as not to lose its attractive lustrous patina. A much-loved style of antique lamp in remarkable original order. The listed measurement for its height was taken when the lamp was at an average working position.
