Technical Description

A 19th century Scottish agate brooch with ornately engraved silver and a citrine gemstone. The silver is mounted with a handmade scrolling c-clasp that has a slightly extended pin and tube hinge. Set with four crescent-cut Montrose blue lace banded agates.

Date & Origin

Scotland or England, c1880. Period of Victoria.

Condition

Pin to rear in full working order. The c-scroll clasp has been restored as shown. Silver unmarked which is quite normal for Scottish Jewellery of this type.
