Description

A French 18 karat (18K) yellow gold charm pendant designed as the Miraculous Medal by Augis. The medal depicts the Virgin Mary standing on a globe above the date 1830, crushing a serpent beneath her feet with rays shooting from her hands to symbolise the graces she bestows on those who ask for them. The words ‘O Marie, concue sans peche, PPN qui avons recours a vous’ (O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee) form an oval frame.

To the reverse, the Marion Cross above the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, surrounded by twelve stars. Stamped with the eagle’s head for 18 karat gold and French manufacture, signed A.Augis, with maker’s mark for Augis.
