Sold by: The Earring Curator

Lovely shining Victorian earrings in an unusual padlock style with gold bead decoration.

• Condition: Good antique condition with a few minor surface dents, see photos.

• Fixing: Nine-carat gold wires; supplied with tiny silicone ''keepers'' to pop on the end for security.

• Hallmarks/stamps: Each earring is stamped 9CT on the back and also has the kitemark used by the British Design Registry which enables us to date the earrings quite precisely. The stamp shows this design was registered on 1 January 1875 and as the mark was discontinued less than a decade later we know they must have been made between 1875 and 1884.
