Oak Bureau Bookcase C.1905

Description

Superb quality oak bureau bookcase of unusual Arts and Crafts influenced design c.1905. Glazed bookcase top with two adjustable shelves (internal depth 9") over a separate base featuring a fall front bureau plus five drawers and a cupboard below. Open the bureau to reveal a leather top writing surface (height 31") and a fitted interior of small pigeon holes and two stationery drawers either side of a letter rack and pen stand retaining (unusually) the glass inkwells. In a pale quarter sawn oak with crisp carved and moulded detail and particularly nice original copper plated handles. Quality brass locks, solid oak sides, mahogany drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops, keys supplied.
