Beautifully evocative early 19th century patinated bronze Atlas figural ''bouillotte'' library desk lamp. The finely cast figure of Atlas stands on a Sainte Anne des Pyrenees grey marble base with a ormolu rope band. Gilt bronze sliding candle cup with a deep red and gold accented classically decorated tōle peinte shade topped by a urn finial. Original with no signs that this has ever been adapted for electicity. Italian or French Directiore period, circa 1800.
