A truly charming sterling silver vinaigrette in the form of a book, fully hallmarked for silversmiths Taylor and Perry, Birmingham, 1831.
This piece is exceptionally well made. The external silverwork mimics the features of a book with spine and pages with remnants of the original silver gilt remaining present. The lid lifts to reveal a decorative silver gilt interior with clear hallmarks.
An excellent example of an increasingly scarce piece.
