The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
It is clearly hallmarked on the base for London 1907 with the maker's mark of Peter Henderson Deere.
The trunk has gilding inside and the match striker is the shaft between the handles.
This is a rare and highly collectable piece of silver.
