An exceptional pair of matching bookcases dating from around 1890 and crafted in solid oak in the Arts and Crafts styleThey retain their original brass handles and locks all of which have their keys One of the bookcases is a secretaire with fitted interior and the other bookcase is fitted with filing slides Both have two drawers with cupboards beneath They split into two for moving but are due to their high quality are exceptionally heavy Unusually for items of this quality there no makers stamps

It came from a large country estate in North Yorkshire
