Rare Victorian Ruby 9ct Gold Artists Palette Earrings

These solid gold artist''s palette earrings from the 19th century are a rare find! Each stud is beautifully detailed with two brushes, a Mahl stick and a string of ivy leaves, as well as a tiny deep pink old-cut ruby. The leaves may seem an odd addition to a palette but any Victorian would have been aware of their meaning as a symbol of enduring love - whether romantic or platonic.
