Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Established in 1751 in Worcester, England, Royal Worcester is one of the oldest surviving English porcelain brands. The factory became famous for producing bone china decorated with hand-painted botanicals, landscape scenes, and elaborate gilding during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Bone china is produced from a body mixture containing bone ash, china stone, and kaolin, giving it strength and translucency. Decoration involves hand-applied enamel painting followed by raised gilding using liquid gold, which is fired in a kiln and burnished.

Authentic pieces feature a printed or impressed backstamp on the underside, often depicting a crescent, a dot system, or a circular emblem containing the number 51. The arrangement of dots, letters, or numbers surrounding the mark indicates the precise year of manufacture.

Decorative plates can be mounted on walls using wire plate hangers to form a gallery display, or placed vertically on plate stands atop sideboards and shelving units. Grouping pieces by colour or pattern provides visual structure within contemporary shelving displays.

Clean gilded porcelain using warm water and a mild detergent applied gently with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges, chemical cleaners, and dishwashers, as these methods wear away gilded borders and hand-painted enamels.
