Antique Victorian Mahogany Tall Narrow Library Bookcase C1860 Wt2003a/4.1

Description

Lovely antique victorian mahogany library bookcase and dating from around 1860. It has a flared cornice top above a deep frieze and with two arched glazed doors with carved acanthus leaf corbals to either side and with two internal adjustable shelves. The base has a squared edge to the top with serpentine frieze drawer and acanthus leaf corbal mounts to either side. There are two arched panelled doors and with internal shelf. It stands on a deep plinth base. The top removes for ease of transporting.

In very good condition with a striking grain to the doors and deep colour and patination to the mahogany oozing the charm and character of the victorian period.

Measures: 81" high X height to top of base 36" X 17" deep X internal depth 8.3/4" (top) X 38" wide
