Antique German silver plated 4-piece teapot, sugar bowl, cream/milk jug & tea tray set by the renowned WMF (WÜRTTEMBERGISCHE METALLWARENFABRIK)

Beautiful simple and elegant hexagonal shape with reed banded detail.

Condition: Overall it is in very good condition. The silver plate is largely excellent. When you inspect, you can see subtle patches of loss, mainly to the cream jug, but these are fairly subtle and happen to be mostly on one side. On the sugar bowl, you can see subtle losses along the corners and a few patches also, again mainly to one side, so both pieces display very well. Additionally the base metal is very light in colour. The tray and teapot have no plate loss at all. The tray has scratches to the bed. No visible scratches to any of the other pieces. The whole set has a deep shine and is of lovely quality. There is no damage to any of the pieces and no dings or dents.

Arched figural trademark incorporating the ostrich, WMF and letter G (Dating the set between c1909 - c1920)

The maker's marks impressed to the teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl are crisp and clear. The underside of the tea tray handle is also marked but the ostrich mark has rubbed somewhat. Additionally, the tea tray is also marked OX.
