These stunning gold earrings from Sri Lanka showcase a joyous array of excellent multicoloured gemstones including pink sapphire, blue sapphire, topaz, tourmalines and garnets.

The earrings come in their natty original silk-lined Hemachandra Bros case.

• Condition: In excellent vintage condition with fully working screws.

• Fixing: The earrings have threaded posts with secure screw-on backs for pierced ears.

• Era: c.1960s.

• Hallmarks/stamps: None, which is not unusual as they were not required in Sri Lanka at the time the earrings were made. They have been professionally tested as 12-carat gold, gilded with a higher carat for extra-rich colour.

• Size: Approximately 2.3 x 1.7cm.

• Weight: 6.8g.
