Peter Harris Clocks & Militaria has dated this French Bronze Equestrian Sculpture to the 19th Century.
A shield, helmet and other military equipment lie at the horse's feet.

The sculpture is finely modelled with detailed armour, flowing drapery, textured saddlecloth and an expressive horse, raised on an oval naturalistic base with a moulded border. The horse's hindquarters bear two circular cartouches.

The composition is closely related in style and subject to 19th-century French historical bronzes associated with Théodore Gechter (1796–1844). The sculpture appears unsigned, and the precise sculptor, foundry and date have not been established.

Dark brown patinated finish with areas of surface wear and age-related marks.
Dimensions: Approximately 41 cm high x 36 cm long.
Condition: Surface wear and deposits to the base. Further examination is required to confirm the condition of the underside and any casting or foundry marks.
