FAQs

Ferahan carpets originate from the Arak region of central Persia, produced primarily during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. They are renowned for fine hand-knotting, madder red and indigo dye palettes, and intricate botanical lattice patterns.

These carpets are hand-knotted using short, dense wool pile woven onto a durable cotton warp and weft. Asymmetrical Persian knots are used to create precise, complex geometric and floral details across the field.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural vegetable dye abrash colour variations, thin and flexible hand-bound edges, symmetrical surface wear, and classic designs such as the Herati motif framed by intricate multi-band borders.

A classic Persian carpet anchors modern furniture by introducing visual texture, contrast, and depth. Placing it centrally beneath neutral seating or a minimalist dining set bridges historical craftsmanship with contemporary design.

Vacuum gently without a rotating brush bar to protect the natural fibres. Rotate the carpet annually to distribute foot traffic evenly, and utilise a high-quality rug pad to cushion the weave and prevent slippage.
