This is a stunning rug. Finely knotted with silky wool and a range of rich colours beautifully combined. The meandering floral border is something to behold and could be overlooked such is the strength of the main field. Soft pink tendrils emerge from the ends and snake their way towards the centre carrying flowers of all colours. The combination of this pink against the deep blue field is breathtaking and the picture is completed with the light green central medallion replete with flowers. Finally the bright blue spandrels are joined by an inner border framing the inky blue field. Some rugs have a mesmeric effect and it can be difficult to stop looking at them, this is one in that category. It has everything you might want in a decorative rug.
Very good, very minor wear and a little colour run as is common in Malayer pieces.
