Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Jacobean Revival double wardrobe dates from 1920 and takes the form of a substantial oak piece with a warm brown timber finish and dark iron strap hinges and drop handles. The front has two doors fitted with moulded cornices above upper panels containing carved diamond motifs and carved dividers, alongside recessed rectangular lower panels. It stands upon bracket feet attached to a moulded plinth base. Measuring 183 cm high by 129.5 cm wide and 59 cm deep, the wardrobe provides generous storage capacity for coats, suits and folded garments. It suits placement in a master bedroom or a guest room within a traditional or English country house setting to organise clothing.

Jacobean Revival wardrobes from the 1920s typically feature geometric carved panelling, medium-to-dark oak timber, and decorative iron fittings inspired by seventeenth-century English cabinetmaking.

Storage furniture from this period was predominantly constructed using solid oak and oak veneers, assembled with mortise and tenon joinery and finished with iron or brass hardware.

Authentic pieces exhibit a combination of machine-assisted timber cutting and hand-finished details, external strap hinges, drop handles, and standardized internal hanging rails.

A solid oak wardrobe functions as a focal anchor within modern bedrooms, contrasting clean architectural lines and neutral textiles with structured architectural woodwork.

Position the piece away from direct heat sources to reduce timber shrinkage, and apply a neutral beeswax polish along the grain periodically to protect the surface.
