Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A 1920s oak triple wardrobe is a freestanding bedroom storage unit manufactured during the interwar period, characterized by three vertical sections, often featuring carved outer panel doors alongside a central full-length mirror.

Pieces from this era were primarily constructed from solid oak and oak veneers over softwoods, utilizing mortise and tenon joinery, glass mirror plates, and cast brass or iron ironmongery.

Authentic pieces display characteristic design details such as carved shell corner spandrels, geometric or oval central medallions, fielded door panels, period drop handles, and turned bun feet.

Position the piece as a central focal point against crisp modern plaster or dark painted walls, pairing the rich oak timber with light linen bedding and minimal contemporary accessories to balance its visual weight.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a lint-free cloth and applying a neutral beeswax polish annually, while avoiding placement near direct heat sources or damp exterior walls to prevent timber movement.
