Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This antique Persian Bidjar runner from 1890 uses wool and cotton materials, displaying a slate blue field colour alongside muted pinks, yellow, grey tones, and an off-white border. The design incorporates floral rosettes, geometricised palmettes, Herati motifs, and a meander border. The hand-knotted construction shows natural colour variations, visible wear across the pile, and subtle fringe details at the ends. The piece measures 546 cm high, 108 cm wide, and 2 cm deep. Placed in a hallway, corridor, or landing, the runner adds warmth and texture to timber or stone flooring, suiting a traditional English Country House interior scheme while providing a durable floor covering for high-traffic zones.

A Bidjar runner is a long, narrow hand-woven carpet originating from the town of Bidjar in northwestern Persia, renowned for its heavy, densely packed knotting structure.

These carpets are constructed with a durable wool pile woven onto a double-warp foundation of wool or cotton, yielding an extremely dense and sturdy weave.

Authentic Bidjar pieces are recognised by their exceptional weight and rigidity, natural vegetable dyes, and intricate floral or geometric motifs rendered with high knot density.

A traditional runner adds texture and historic character when placed in long hallways, entryways, or alongside kitchen islands to contrast sleek contemporary cabinetry.

Vacuum gently without a rotating beater bar, rotate periodically to ensure even wear, and seek specialist hand-cleaning services to preserve natural wool fibres and dyes.
