A Qashqai vanity bag is a small, handwoven nomadic pouch traditionally made by tribal women in southwestern Persia for personal storage or as part of dowry items, typically featuring distinctive geometric motifs.

These bags are constructed using hand-spun wool for both the foundation and the pile or flatweave surface, often dyed with natural organic colourants derived from local plants and minerals.

Authenticity is determined by evaluating the irregularity of hand-spun wool, the organic nature of natural dyes, the specific tribal iconography, and the presence of genuine age-related wear.

Antique textiles can be mounted and framed as wall art, displayed on small stands, or integrated into tabletop arrangements to add tactile warmth and historical context to contemporary spaces.

Preservation requires keeping the textile out of direct sunlight to prevent fading, avoiding excessive moisture, and occasionally vacuuming gently through a protective mesh screen on a low suction setting.
