This lovely silk Kashan rug certainly fits the bill. The weave is fine with a very velvety silk pile. The rose medallion on the mid-blue background in the field is very elegant and is surrounded by flowering vines and blossoms which are contained within ivory spandrels. The mid-blue border matches the field colour, an unusual feature, and is decorated with palmettes and leaves. The entire composition is highly elegant, and a delight for the eye.. In very good condition, and professionally cleaned. This rug would enhance any decorative setting and could work equally well on a floor or wall.
