Art Nouveau metalware emerged during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, characterised by organic forms, sinuous lines, and motifs inspired by nature.

These pieces were typically crafted using bronze, brass, or spelter, frequently shaped via lost-wax casting or metal spinning, then hand-finished with patination.

Authentic items exhibit natural age-related patination, casting seams appropriate for the period, foundry marks or artist signatures, and weight consistent with genuine metal alloys rather than modern resin.

Position the piece as a focal point on a mantelpiece, console, or sideboard, allowing its sculptural silhouette and metallic texture to contrast against minimalist surroundings.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid chemical polishes or abrasive cleaners that can strip the historic patina and damage the surface integrity.
