Elkington & Co

A lovely pair of early Victorian ormolu and parcel silvered swan candlesticks after a 1834 design by William Bateman II for Rundell, Bridge and Rundell. The leafy acanthus nozzles with floral drip pans on corresponding narrow foliate stems flanked by three seated swans, on shaped tripartite bases decorated with various seashells. Retaining the original gilt & silver finishes, with superb chasing details. Hallmarks ‘Elkington & Co’ date code letter ‘O’.
