English Pair of Sterling Silver Horse Hoof Serving Spoons 1871 Hunting Riding Antiques

Description

An unusual pair of English Victorian antique solid sterling silver gilt serving spoons. They are hallmarked for Sheffield 1871 with the maker's mark being that of Martin, Hall & Co (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall). They have been superbly designed with the terminals being cast in the form of horses hoofs. They are in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs, the gilding has worn from the bowls and a little to the bowl backs. They measure approx. 6.75 inches (17.3cm) long by 2.25 inches (5.5cm) wide and have a combined weight of 102 grams. A very nice quality set.
