A beautiful antique Chanteh woven by the nomadic Qashqai tribe circa 1880. It is unusually woven on both sides with a red field on one side and a dark indigo on the other. These small vanity bags were woven by the women of the tribe and would have been used to keep valuable items such as jewellery or money. These antique Chantehs have become very hard to find and are highly collectible.
Size: 0.19m x 0.22m (7in x 8in)
This Chanteh is in good condition with light, age related wear. The side binding has come a little loose, no holes or repairs.
