Description

This is super pair of antique George V sterling silver and glass whisky noggins/jugs each with a curved handle and silver collar with thumb rest for opening the lid - particularly nice as they come with 'Whisky' labels.

They are conical in shape and have a cut glass star on the base.

The jugs have matching hallmarks for Birmingham 1922 with the silversmiths marks for Hukin & Heath and and the labels are hallmarked for Birmingham 1912 & 1913 with the silversmiths marks for S. Blanckensee & Son - Inside the lids also shows the retailers mark for Wilson & Gill, 139 & 141, Regent St, London.

These jugs are usually Scottish in origin and are used for serving individual portions of whisky equivalent to a gill.

Each one measures 4" (10 cms) tall x 2 1/2" (6.5 cms) across the base.

Both are in excellent condition, are perfectly usable today and will come in a gift box with a certificate of authenticity.
