Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating from Central Anatolia, Konya region rugs are traditionally hand-knotted by village weavers using hand-spun wool and natural dyes. They typically feature bold geometric layouts, vertical column structures, and iconic Anatolian symbols such as stars and latch-hooks.

Anatolian village carpets were predominantly crafted using local hand-spun sheep wool for both the pile and the warp and weft foundations. The yarn was dyed using plant-based pigments, madder root, indigo, and organic matter to create lasting colours.

Authentic pieces exhibit slight irregularities in pattern symmetry, natural abrash colour variations within the wool, and a flexible hand-knotted wool foundation rather than a rigid synthetic backing. Examining the reverse reveals clear, visible knot structures consistent with traditional hand-weaving.

Geometric tribal rugs work effectively as focal points in contemporary settings, adding texture and warm tones against neutral timber floorboards or stone tiles. Layering a colourful Anatolian rug over a larger neutral flatweave carpet provides visual depth and eclectic contrast.

Vacuum gently using suction only, avoiding rotating brush attachments that can snag delicate wool fibres. Blot liquid spills immediately with a clean dry cloth and neutral solution, and periodically rotate the rug to ensure uniform wear and light exposure.
