Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bergama rugs originate from North-West Anatolia and are recognised for their bold geometric patterns, deep colour palettes, and nomadic Turkish weaving heritage. Karakecili sub-tribal rugs frequently feature distinct central columns, latch-hook motifs, and rich vegetable-dyed wools.

These carpets are hand-knotted using locally sourced hand-spun sheep wool for both the pile and the foundation structure. Natural plant and mineral dyes produce the characteristic saturated madder reds, indigo blues, and earthy shades.

Authentic pieces display slight asymmetrical variations in pattern, natural dye abrashes, and hand-knotted wool fringes along the ends. The back reveals distinct hand-tied knots with irregular structural texture rather than uniform machine stitching.

A geometric Anatolian rug provides colour and historical texture when anchored beneath a central table or placed in an entryway. It harmonises with minimalist contemporary furniture, warm timber tones, or eclectic interior schemes.

Regular gentle vacuuming without a rotating beater bar prevents fibre damage, while periodic rotation ensures even wear. Spills should be blotted immediately with a clean, dry cloth, and professional cleaning should be performed by specialist rug conservators.
