Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Esme kilims originate from the Esme region in Western Anatolia, Turkey, renowned for their flatwoven geometric motifs and vibrant natural colour palettes. These textiles were traditionally handwoven by tribal weavers using time-honoured slit-weave techniques.

Vintage kilims are crafted using a flatweave tapestry technique, primarily employing hand-spun wool for both the warp and weft. This produces a durable, pileless textile featuring sharp geometric patterns formed by distinct colour breaks along the weave.

Authentic vintage Turkish kilims display slight tension variations inherent to hand-loom weaving, subtle colour shifts known as abrash, and a reversible flat construction with fine slit gaps separating contrasting colour sections.

A vibrant Turkish kilim serves as a structural focal point in modern, mid-century, or eclectic living spaces. It can be placed directly onto timber flooring or layered over neutral natural-fibre carpets to add warmth and geometric contrast.

Vacuum flatweave rugs using suction only, avoiding rotary brush heads that can catch wool fibres, and rotate the rug regularly to ensure uniform light exposure. Professional specialist cleaning is recommended for stain treatment and periodic maintenance.
