Stunning Oval Silverplated Biscuit Box by Atkin Brothers, Sheffield C.1880

Description

A stunning English Victorian biscuit box in an oval form and quite beautifully decorated. The box stands on an integral pierced or reticulated tray with a beaded border and in turn, stands on four ball & claw feet.

The front is beautifully engraved with a floral garland either side of the vacant cartouche. There is also an engraved border where the box and lid join and an elegant engraving on the domed lid.

The underside is where the makers mark HA EA FA for the renowned silversmith's, The Atkin Brothers, and EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver.

Excellent condition, measuring 9" x 6 7/8" x 6" tall.
