Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The lid pulls off neatly. The body of the pot is decorated with a band of pretty swirls . Clear hallmarks are visible to the inside lip of the pot and also on the lid itself, for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1908 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also clearly visible for William Comyns & Sons

A beautiful item that would look lovely on a dressing table filled with sweet pot pourri, or as a trinket box.
