Antique Silver Pot Pourri Box with Floral Designs Hallmarked London 1908 by William Comyns & Sons

Description

A highly decorative and very pretty circular Edwardian solid silver pot pourri box. The pierced lid is decorated with a single cherub and leafy fronds branching out from a smooth central circle. The lid pulls off neatly. The body of the pot is decorated with a band of pretty swirls . Clear hallmarks are visible to the inside lip of the pot and also on the lid itself, for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1908 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also clearly visible for William Comyns & Sons

 

A beautiful item that would look lovely on a dressing table filled with sweet pot pourri, or as a trinket box.

 

Condition: In lovely antique condition.

 

Hallmarks: London 1908 by William Comyns & Sons.

 

Measurements: Height: 2.6 cm Diameter: Lid 6.7cm Diameter - base 6cm Weight: 59 grams
