Fine Pair of Hester Bateman Silver Tablespoons, London 1790

Description

A very fine pair of solid silver tablespoons, by the renowned and collectable maker:  Hester Bateman.  Both of the spoons bear the very clear hallmarks for London 1790, along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the maker's mark:  Hester Bateman. There is a very lightly engraved monogram to the top of each spoon handle:  'S.D'.   The spoons are in great condition (some very light surface scratches which we mention for complete accuracy only, commensurate with age). A good heavy gauge of silver. 

 

Hester Bateman is one of the most famous and world renowned female silversmiths.

 

Measurements each spoon:  Length:  21.5 cm    Width of bowl:  4.4 cm

 

Combined weight:  115 grams.
