Superb Large Italian 800 Solid Sterling Silver Snuff Box C1930 Antique 81g

1920 - 1940
Description

A beautiful Italian 800 solid silver snuff box. It is hallmarked with the 800 standard mark and marks used from the 1930-3 through to the 1960's, I would date it to the 1930s-1940's although it has a 19th century style. It has been beautifully made having a serpentine form with engine turning to all sides and vacant cartouches. The inside has been richly gilded. It is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, the inside is clean and the lid closes tightly. It measures approx. 3.25 inches (8.3cms) long by 1.75 inches (4.4cm) front to back by 1 inch (2.5cm) and weighs 81 grams. A very high quality example.
