Rare Scottish Sterling Silver Weir Family Crest Menu Holder 1896 Antique

Description

A very rare Scottish solid sterling silver menu holder. It is hallmarked for Glasgow 1896 with the maker’s marks being that of James Weir. It has been superbly designed being cast in the form the Weir Family crest along with their moto NIHIL VERIUS meaning 'Nothing Truer than Truth'. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 1.5 inches (3.6cm) tall by 2 inches (5cm) across the base by 1.25 inches (3cm) wide and weighs 18 grams. A very nice quality piece.
