A Rare Georgian Silver Lemon Bottle Ticket

A rare Georgian silver 'Lemon' label. This wonderful piece is rectangular in shape, with a reeded border and squared corners. The word 'Lemon' is engraved to the centre. The label is supported on a belcher chain and the title is in 'pricked' initials.

In Georgian and early Victorian times, large silver cruet sets contained many bottles of various condiments and flavourings. Each had a name ticket hung around the neck and the quality examples were in silver. An unusual collector's piece, with a practical use. Dimensions below.
