An Unusual Late Victorian Silver Ice Cream Spade

This delightful and rare Victorian item is an elegant serving piece from the tea table. Similar in appearance to a preserve spoon (which would be a good alternative use), it is a silver ice cream spade. This would have been used for serving ices at high tea and is an unusual and desirable collector's piece. It is fully cast with a plain, shaped bowl and a shank which features serpents, birds and fruit. This unusual and good quality piece, is both decorative and usable.
